JANE & CHRISTOPHER | SPRING LAKE WEDDING

Jane and Chris were married on a spectacular afternoon in October at St. Catharine Church in the historic seaside town of Spring Lake. Jane visualized her wedding day to be fun and sophisticated with a beachy feel! I really enjoyed meeting them in July at their engagement session in Central Park! I’m so grateful that Brandi Grooms Johnson was my second photographer for the day. Jane and Chris’ William Arthur invitations from The Papery in Sea Girt were classic and timeless.I loved Jane’s classically romantic chignon styled by Laura from Milagro Spa in in Manasquan. Jane was absolutely radiant as Jessica DeMarco D’Agostino made the last touches to her makeup.Her beautiful silk-faced satin strapless gown and Alençon lace cathedral length veil were from the Amsale flagship salon in Manhattan. I just loved her Butter bridal shoes! Jane borrowed her aunt’s pearl earrings and bracelet. The bouquets were lovely and filled with vendela roses, hydrangea and green berries. Wallflowers did an excellent job on all the florals!
The bridesmaids deep raspberry Jenny Yoo shantung silk dresses were gorgeous and the perfect choice for an early fall wedding!After portraits we headed over to the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club for their reception. It was a perfect evening for an outdoor cocktail hour.Their traditional tiered cake adorned with roses from Chocolate Carousel was so pretty.
The ballroom at the club is one of my favorite venues. It’s truly elegant and the staff did an amazing job of incorporating details that were special to Jane and Chris. Jane and Chris danced their first dance to the popular song It Had To Be You.The toasts were heartfelt and hilarious! Chris’ best man and brother, Mike, told some very funny tales that had everyone in tears! Bruce Saunders Entertainment had the dance floor full all night!After dinner, Jane and her father danced to The Wonder of You while Chris and his mother danced to Kind and Generous with his mother. Congratulations Jane and Chris! You’re an amazing couple with such wonderful friends and families!

SARAH & TIMOTHY | SANDY HOOK WEDDING

The beautifully renovated historic Sandy Hook Chapel in Fort Hancock that overlooks the Sandy Hook Bay was the perfect location for Sarah and Tim’s intimate wedding in September. Sandy Hook holds a very special place in their hearts because it was where Tim proposed to Sarah and where we later photographed their engagement session.Sarah’s satin strapless gown and veil from David’s Bridal were so pretty and delicate.Her bouquet was filled with roses, stephanotises, calla lilies and shells, and was a lovely complement to Tim’s boutonnière. Something Nice Floral Designs really did a wonderful job incorporating beach elements into all the florals! I especially loved the arch!
Mumford’s Culinary Center provided all the catering including the cake. The staff could not have been nicer!Minister Jessie Ferreira performed the ceremony. I loved how Tim made Sarah laugh! Sarah and Tim did not stop smiling as they danced their first dance to Talking Bird by Death Cab for Cutie!Tony from Cisco’s Premier DJ’s kept everyone on the dance floor for a fun afternoon of celebrating.Congratulations Sarah and Tim! I love that we share the same wedding anniversary!

LISA & SHAWN | LONG BRANCH WEDDING

I loved Lisa and Shawn’s intimate seaside wedding at Ocean Place Spa and Resort in September. I knew their wedding would be wonderful because I could tell how much they were in love during their engagement session in August. Shawn’s nephews, Kai, Flynn, and Jake were the ring bearers.Lisa’s BCBG ivory gown was soft and romatic. Jenna couldn’t have been happier for her mom!There were some beautiful moments between Lisa and her dad before they walked down the aisle.Retired Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Alexander D. Lehrer presided over the nuptials.It was such a treat for me to see so many of my boys former teachers from Forrestdale! Congratulations Lisa and Shawn! You are an amazing couple and I was so honored to be a part of your wedding day.

MARY & ROBERT | RUMSON WEDDING

Mary and Rob were married on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in September at Holy Cross Church. Mary envisioned their wedding day as an end of summer celebration with a playful laid-back twist. I knew after their engagement session that their wedding day was going to be lots of fun. Brandi Grooms Johnson assisted in capturing some of the lovely and lively moments of the day with me.Mary and Rob’s William Arthur invitations and programs were simple and classic with touches of their pink and navy blue color scheme, and were made by Write Impression.Mary’s all white bouquet was filled with roses, gardenias, and calla lillies. I loved how it was wrapped with extra fabric from her gown and adorned with her grandmother’s vintage Tiffany brooch which was also her “something old.” The brooch was given to her by her grandmother, but it actually belonged to her great grandmother, who gave it to her grandmother when she married her grandfather. Her great grandmother’s name was Mary Hannan for whom she’s named after…its very special to her! Alan’s Rumson Florist did a great job on all the florals!Mary’s champagne glitter fabric shoes from the Jimmy Choo bridal collection added the perfect glamorous touch!Her beautiful gown from Mustillo’s was designed by Lazaro for the Tara Keeley collection. It looked like it was made just for her! I loved Mary’s chic bun styled by Keelin from Glen Goldbaum 72. Megan from Blue Mercury did an amazing job on her make-up. Mary borrowed her mom’s pearl necklace which also happens to be her grandmother’s pearls.

The bridesmaids navy blue LulaKate shantung silk dresses from Bella Bridesmaid were so elegant. Their bouquets were filled with pink calla lillies and wrapped with a navy bow and pearl accents. I just love Mary and Rob’s big smiles. This is always one of my favorite moments from a wedding day.Mary realized that some of her bridesmaids were posing for a photo without her and just had to jump into the shot. I think she is adorable!After the ceremony we headed over to Navesink Country Club for the reception.Brian George, Mary’s dad and owner of the menswear emporium, Northshore did a fantastic job of styling Rob and the groomsmen. Rob was so handsome in his khaki poplin suit with a blue and pink check shirt and Vineyard Vines tie. Rob works with his dad at their family business Middletown Sprinkler Company. Navesink Country Club is one of their clients and boys being boys, Rob just couldn’t resist turning on the system while he and his groomsmen were on the course. Ye Olde Pie Shoppe did a super job on Rob’s groom cake and their wedding cupcakes. Each table represented a different course that Middletown Sprinkler Company had installed a system. Mary and Rob danced their first dance to the Carrie Underwood’s Mama’s Song.Mary danced to Stevie Wonders Isn’t She Lovely with her father, and Rob to danced Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance with his mother.Rob’s best man, his dad, toasted the couple after reminiscing about life with Rob and his friends growing up. It was so funny as he pulled his notes out and the paper unfurled.Miracle rocked the house and had everyone dancing and singing!Congratulations Mary and Rob!

COURTNEY & RYAN | RUMSON WEDDING

Courtney and Ryan’s wedding took place in the beautiful and historic St. George’s-by-the-River on a day that Hurricane Irene was barreling up the East Coast! I couldn’t wait to see them again after their romantic and fun engagement session in Central Park. There is an old Italian saying “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata” which translates to “Wet bride, lucky bride,” and with the amount of rain that fell on their wedding day they will surely have an abundance of good luck! I really admire how they embraced the day with their family and friends rather than worrying about the weather. As a photographer, my job is to capture the emotion of the wedding day despite the weather even if it is a hurricane! Enjoy a few of my favorite moments that Brandi Grooms Johnson and I captured!Even though it wasn’t raining when we arrived, everyone was really calm at Courtney’s parent’s home where she and the girls were having their make-up done by Gracia Phillips from Beautiful Bridal Affairs and hair by Danielle Gembarski.Courtney and Ryan’s Crane’s letterpress invitation suite was made by The Write Impression.Courtney selected a beautiful mix of roses, hydrangea and blue delphinium for the bouquets made by Foggia Florist. Courtney was the loveliest bride and I was so impressed with her grace and sweetness-traits I’m sure she inherited from her mom Leigh. I can only imagine the stress the forecast brought to them all the days prior. Courtney’s “something old” was her great-grandmother’s delicately embroidered handkerchief.Courtney had a lot of beautiful pearl accessories, including her mom’s “borrowed” pearl bracelet, to compliment her Priscilla of Boston Alençon lace gown and veil. Loved the satin band adorned by hand with crystals, rhinestones, and pearls. I just loved the beautiful pillow on Courtney’s bed that her mom Leigh made for her.The bridesmaids Saison Blanche navy strapless A-line gown’s from Cinderella Bridals were simply elegant.Does Courtney look like the rain is bothering her? Nope.Courtney, Ryan and their families had decided to move the reception up a couple of hours to ensure that everyone would be safely on their way home before the worst of the storm hit. We were greeted with such a nice, warm welcome by Jim, Kevin and their staff at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club for the reception. We were able to sneak away from the party for a few minutes for Ryan and Courtney’s portraits. At one point I did contemplate taking them outside for some fun shots with an umbrella, but the outer bands of Hurricane Irene had approached us and the wind and rain were just too fierce.The room was simply stunning!One of Ryan’s grandmother’s had become ill a few weeks prior to the wedding, so his grandparents were unable to attend. With the help of Skype technology they we were able to be part of the festivities. So sweet!They were so happy while they danced their first dance to Lonestar’s Amazed!Courtney’s father, her maid of honor Caitlin, and Ryan’s best man Zach offered up toasts to the happy bride and groom.Courtney and her dad danced to Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight while Ryan and his mom swayed to Kenny Loggins Return to Pooh Corner.Kim Sozzi and the Creations Music band had everyone on their feet the rest of the night!I just loved seeing my friends, Stevie and Todd of Guaranteed Plants and Florist, at the wedding!Courtney and Ryan are graduates of Bucknell University, so it was fun to gather the graduates on the dance floor for a photo. Thanks again to my amazing couple, Courtney and Ryan and to their family and friends for allowing me and Brandi to be part of this incredible day amidst a hurricane. Congratulations Courtney and Ryan!

LAUREN & CHARLES | RUMSON WEDDING

Lauren and Charlie’s summer wedding took place in Holy Cross Church on a lovely August Saturday afternoon. I was so happy that their wedding day had finally arrived especially after their sweet engagement session in July. Lauren and Charlie’s wedding invitation suite was made by Pauline’s Paperie. Brandi Grooms Johnson met Charlie and the boys at his childhood home to capture some candid moments before they left for the ceremony. I couldn’t be more grateful for such a wonderful photographer assisting me! Charlie’s dad surprised him with a special Cheerios lamp as a remembrance of the nights that they’d sit together at the table and discuss the day’s events and his mom could not have been happier having all the boys over to the house before the wedding!Over at Lauren’s family home, makeup artist Catherine Hunter put the final touches on Lauren’s makeup. She had already had her hair done by Giovanna from the Jon Lori Salon. She looked amazing!Lauren’s jewelry and accessories were classic and elegant.Her “borrowed” diamond chandelier earrings were stunning! Love this image that Brandi took of them.Lauren’s sister and maid of honor, Melissa, just had to give her big sister a huge hug before they went upstairs to put her gown on!Before the rehearsal dinner the night before Lauren’s parents presented her with a copy of The Velveteen Rabbit autographed by the illustrator Donna Green with her favorite quote from the book. She also received a bracelet from her siblings as a surprise gift right before the rehearsal as well. So sweet!Lauren’s romantic Casablanca beaded lace on point d’esprit over satin gown from Barefoot Bride was perfect for her! All the florals were absolutely beautiful! I was so delighted to get the chance to work with Kate Duffy, owner of Katydid’s, again. I have always been huge admirer of hers!Lauren and Charlie were absolutely thrilled to see each other for the first time that day. Their first kiss as husband and wife!The bridesmaids J. Crew navy strapless gowns in chiffon were delicate and romantic.Charlie and the boys looked so handsome in their salmon trousers, navy blazers, light blue shirts and nautical sailboat and compass ties from Allyn Neckwear.We decided to walk over the Sea Bright Bridge to the reception at Seabright Beach Club! I couldn’t get over all the cheers and honks that came from passersby. It was so much fun!Their cake from The Flaky Tart was simple and elegant. I understand it was quite delicious too! There was also a special birthday cake for Lauren’s dad Peter!Before we headed to the beach for some fun and romantic photos, Lauren and Charlie met their friends from our beach club, Chapel Beach Club, for a champagne toast! It was great when Lauren’s mom Penny spied her friends on the dune!Melissa was the best maid of honor ever! Not only did she perform all of the usual and expected responsibilities she also carried my second camera while we were on the beach. Lauren and Charlie are Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School graduates, so of course we had to gather some of their fellow graduates on the dunes for a photo.I just adore how Lauren looked so lovingly at Charlie during their first dance to Van Morrison’s These are the Days.Charlie’s best man and cousin, Jack, had everyone laughing hysterically during his toast! The Jazz Lobsters had the dance floor packed all night, with Lauren at the center of it all.Congratulations Lauren and Charlie! Weddings like yours make me feel so incredibly lucky to be a wedding photographer!
